We’ve heard about a special place in Formentera. There we will not find the unforgettable white-sanded beaches that are so characteristic of this island, nor the traditional architecture of its villages, nor the imposing majesty of its cliffs. We’ve been told that it is a stark place, ripped at by the winds and the nearby sea. But still they insist that it is a must-see.
We leave Castaví aiming for the nearby Estany Pudent, from where will take green route number 2 that skirts the lake until we turn left guided by a signpost that indicates the direction towards Sant Francesc Xavier. Once we arrive there, we walk along its white-washed houses towards the beginning of green route 4, which leads us to the protected area called Can Marroig. As we enter its unique landscape, we understand why it was so eagerly recommended. Reaching the sea, we find the awesome artworks that the wind and the sea carve out of the delicate sandstone.
